What do you believe is the relevance of audiocounsel in the 21st Century? It is clear that people have access to a whole wealth of opinions and advice through internet forums and magazine reviews. These are all useful tools for gauding the industries opinion on a particular product, but a vital piece of the jigsaw puzzle is missing –the listening experience. No amount of reading can give you this. If I were to describe to you in words how chicken tastes, are you any nearer to knowing that actual taste. Words are inadequate. And this is true with hi-fi. You need to experience it for yourself. So read about the products, but remember to come along and listen. It is unusual in this day and age for companies not to sell on the internet. Why do you not sell online? We do not sell audio products online because we feel that the vital piece of the listening experience is removed. Call us old fashioned, but we see the website as a means of protraying our passion for both music and hi-fi. We use our website as a way to illustrate the products that we sell and a place to stimulate interest in music. That isn't to say that if you want a particular accessory/ part we can't post it to you. What is your opinion on the technological advances seen in recent years and does it have a place in high quality hi fi ? In my opinion, new formats very rarely offer major improvements over existing technologies. CD was clearly inferior to vinyl reproduction, and DAB is not as good as FM. Yet new technologies offer exciting possibilities for customers who want to explore the practical benefits they bring to the music experience. Streaming music offers a vast choice of music readily available at your finger tips, from internet radio, to streaming devices such as spotify and this can be an appealing option. Personally I still love the sound of vinyl! Why have you decided to relocate off the high Street ? The high street is becoming more and more congested and less conducive to the type of business we run. Our new premises are in a quiet rural location were parking is easy and when you arrive you will be in the right frame of mind to listen. In addition, moving away from the high street will give us more flexibility which favours you, as we are free to do more home demonstrations, and also focus on your needs. I no longer need to spend my time in the shop environment, I am free to arrange home dems or offer customers time to make improvements to their system by reworking insallations to get more out of their hi fi’s.
