Reviews:

"the Amadeus reaches stratopheric heights of performance at a moderate price" The Absolute Sound 2009

“At anywhere near the price point, it is hard to fault the Amadeus. The combination of superbly quiet, stable, solid, low-distortion playback with unusually good bass performance… One could spend a lot more money, but I would listen carefully to the Amadeus first. It is something exceeding fine, far beyond its modest price.” Reviewer Robert E Green

"As high-end turntables go, the Amadeus is inexpensive. And it offers so much of the optimum performance possible at any price that one can only think of it as a wild bargain. In fact, there are important aspects of performance that I think would be hard to equal elsewhere and perhaps impossible to exceed." The Absolute Sound.

"The Well Tempered Amadeus is special. It's one of those products that makes reviewing hi-fi so very exciting. The Amadeus is my product of the year" Audio Enz

Amadeus Review Absolute Sound March 2009

Our Opinion:

From time to time a product comes along which makes you realise how exciting our profession can be. As Bill Firebaugh its designer says it is a jaw dropping experience listening to your favourite albums on this turntable.

Part of the magic of the Amadeus is the unrestrained dynamics. Many other turntables sound strangely compressed and congested in comparison. For many years the Linn LP12 has been the benchmark but I would take the Amadeus without a moments hesitation against the Linn and the Amadeus including arm is less than the price of Linns Keel upgrade. The quality of sound for the price is outstanding.

We think the Amadeus is special. Just grab a handful of your favourite records and come and listen.

Simplex

Reviews:

“the Simplex is ultimately an extremely focussed, coherent and superb sounding piece of audio gear at a compelling price.”

witchdoctor.co.nz

"The Simplex drew me in every time and made it impossible to tune the music out – the detail, the rollicking rhythm and musicality combine with the openness and spaciousness to create a level of enjoyment that doesn’t quite seem feasible at the price."

"This deck has enough drive to get me off my butt and into an air guitar and air drumming frenzy, and that is saying something."

"The Simplex grabbed me over and over, not merely with the sheer quality of the sonics but at the overall value for money I was hearing."
