Zu Audio

A revolution in American Hi-Fi

"High end audio companies like to claim that they create speakers that don't sound like any other. Usually, such assertions are just talk. But Utah based Zu Audio breaks almost every rule of speaker design." Tone Audio

The secret lies in their design. All Zu Audio speakers feature a 10.3" full-range driver that covers bass, mid and well up into the treble range. In addition they don't use a complex cross over network. The inherent problem with multi-way speakers is that they slice and dice the audio signal with the hope that it can be reconstituted in the listening room. Instead Zu use an almost direct - coupled approach which yields major sonic dividends in the critical mid range region.

The results are sensational!! Not only are they one of the most enjoyable speakers I've listened to in a long time, but they also look amazing. With Zu, voices sound human, instruments are genuine, and impact and resolution of musical details are consistent from extended treble right through to deep bass. These speakers really rock!

Importantly, they don't cost the earth. Zu products offer sincere value and are priced to reflect genuine economics.

Zu has just celebrated it's 10th anniversary in 2010, and here at Audiocounsel we believe its the start of a very special company.

Audiocounsel is extremely excited about this unique brand from America and is pleased to be the only dealer in the UK to stock their products. At present we stock the Omen & the Omen Defintion. Enjoy reading about the products and the relevant reviews, but remember to call in to listen to these products.

Exposure Electronics

Exposure Electronics has been committed towards engineering real hi-fi at real world prices since 1974. Back then, the original Exposure products were born out of founder John Farlowe's obsession for excellent reproduction of recorded music, having worked in studios with the likes of David Bowie and Pink Floyd.

Much may have changed in 37 years but good hi-fi is still all about hair-raising and spine-tingling listening experiences. Exposure's focus has remained very much on delighting the ears, so to speak. Designed in the United Kingdom, thier products are engineered by people who are obsessed with sound reproduction and passionate about music. They are committed to two-channel stereo and make hi-fi that is fitted with highly specified components. The look of the finished products is best described as "understated." this reflects the traditional simplicity and elegance.

The signature Exposure sound, however, is quite something else. There is a delicacy in the upper ranges and openness in the mid range, underpinned by deep yet agile bass that "dances" along. Hi-fi critics have praised Exposure for offering "rightness" in sound as well as the best of both worlds - in terms of the speed and precision of the best solid state designs flavoured with a touch of the "sweetness" of valves. So, to put it simply, the engineering and design philosophy is to make hi-fi that gets on with the task of reproducing the right sounds while fading into the background. This is cool, since most people prefer to listen to their music rather than the hi-fi.

At audiocounsel are pleased to be one a few dealers in the UK. At present we stock the both 1010 series & the 2010 Series

Grand Opening & Jon Strong

We'd like to thank all that showed up to our grand opening on Sunday 15th April. The whole day was a great success & we hope you all throughly enjoyed yourself, we certainly did. The Jon Strong gig down at the Diggle Band Club raised over £350 for Andy's charity bike ride from London to Paris, so thanks again.

Later in the year we may feature other artists at this venue.

In our new home

After a very busy period, we are getting close to completing the move. We are extremely pleased with how the shop is looking and thought we'd add a few pictures of the new premises.

1st Blog  . . .

For those who have been waiting for the blog to come online, at long last it has finally happened and to be honest we have some very exciting news . . .  WE ARE MOVING!!!!

Leisurely days out in the countryside:

Audiocounsel are moving premises to the rural village of Diggle, in Saddleworth on the 1st of March. We have decided to move away from the high street because it will give us more flexibility which favors you as we are free to do more home demonstrations and focus on your needs, such as helping you to get the best from your system. In addition we feel the high street is becoming more and more congested and less conducive to the type of business we run. Our new premises are in a quiet rural location where parking is easy and when you arrive you’ll be in the right frame of mind to listen.

Finding us.

Via car:  We are easily accessible by two major motor links. We are located less than 10 miles away from Junction 21 off the M62 and exactly 10 miles from junction 22 off the M60. For those travelling by car our postcode is OL3 5PU. The added bonus of our new location is the parking facilities. It offers hassle-free parking facilities located opposite the shop which are free 7 days a week, till late.

If you need more detailed travel plans then visit:

http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp

Via Train: For those travelling by train we can arrange to collect you (free of charge obviously) from the local station, but please ring in advance to arrange this service. Our local train station is Greenfield Station, which is located only 3 miles away from the shop. For those travelling from Manchester, trains run hourly from Victoria Station and the journey only takes 30 minutes. For those travelling from Leeds, trains again run hourly and the journey only takes 45 minutes. For those travelling from further a field we recommend you travel to Stalybridge Station. We still offer the same complementary pick up service from Stalybridge, but please arrange this service in advance.

For further details on train times visit:

The contact details of the new premises are: 01457 875555
